SCHOOL POLICY ON SOCIAL NORMS AND PROPER DECORUM

In keeping the prestige and integrity of Coronado's School of Quezon City, Inc., students expected to inhibit positive habits of good grooming and personal hygiene.

BEFORE ENTERING SCHOOL PREMISES

ARE YOU PROPERLY GROOMED?
• Students are expected to be in proper haircut.
• Clean fresh nails and no nail polish.
• Students are expected to shave their facial hair.

ARE YOU PROPERLY DRESSED?
• During regular school days:

For Boys:
• Short Sleeve Polo
• White Undergarments (Sando)
• Shorts for Early Childhood
• Pants for Elementary to Junior High School
• Necktie for Junior High School

For Girls:

ARE YOU WEARING PROPER FOOTWEAR?
• A pair of plain black low-cut leather shoes, accompanied by plain white socks for Daily Uniform

• Students are expected to wear their I.D. upon entering school premises.
• The School imposes a "NO ID, NO ENTRY POLICY".

ARE YOU WEARING JEWELRY?
• Boys are strictly prohibited from wearing earrings
• Dangling or earring with big loops are strictly prohibited.
• Unnecessary accessories and expensive jewelries are strictly prohibited. 

The School recognizes the right of every individual to come to school dressed according to their individual taste.

However, they are encouraged to use attires that consider the educational character of the sensibility of other members of the academic community.

• Caps, Hats, and Helmets owner inside the school.
• Extreme Hair Colors (e.g. red, purple, blue, etc.)
• Clothing w/ pictures and/or statements that are contrary to the mission and nature of the school.

• Unauthorized ID Laces

The School prohibits membership of its students in fraternities, sororities, and other organizations operating within the School premises which are not recognized by CSQCi.

As a pre-requisite for admission to the School, all freshmen and transferee students are required to execute the Statement and Undertaking which states the following:

1. The student is not a member of any organization operating within the School premises which is not registered with the Coronado's School of Quezon City, Inc.;

2. For the duration of the student’s stay in the School, the student shall not join and or shall not participate in any organization not recognized by the School;

3. The student acknowledges and understands that the student’s admission into the School is a privilege, and that the School has the right and authority to choose the persons or individuals that may be admitted as students of the School;

4. The student acknowledges and understands that the School has likewise the authority to prescribe rules and regulations governing non-membership of the students in any organization in the School. Pursuant to its right to academic freedom, the School may withhold recognition to organizations whose existence is considered inimical to the maintenance of peace and order in the school campus;

5. The student recognizes and accepts that the student’s continued stay in the School is subject to compliance with prescribed disciplinary rules and regulations, especially those on non-membership in fraternities, sororities or organizations not recognized by the School, the policies relating to prohibited drugs and substances, and the policies relating to other illegal and immoral activities that may destroy the integrity of the School;

6. The student undertakes to abide by whatever School rules and regulations;
The student understands that the School can dismiss the student if the student is found to have falsely certified to any conditions of this Statement and Undertaking; and

The student executes and submits the Statement and Undertaking as a prerequisite of the student ‘s admission in the School.

The Statement and Undertaking shall be signed by the student and his/her parents or guardian.

At Coronado's School of Quezon City, Inc., our Code of Conduct serves as a compass, guiding students towards excellence, respect, and integrity.

Let's embrace these values as we journey together towards success!

Section 1. Basis and Authority of the School to Maintain Discipline

1.1 Every school shall maintain discipline inside the school campus as well as outside the
school premises when pupils or students are engaged in activities authorized by the school (DECS Manual 2000).

1.2 School officials and teachers shall have the right to impose appropriate and reasonable disciplinary measures in case of offenses or infractions of good discipline. However, no cruel or physically harmful punishment shall be imposed or applied against any student (DECS Manual 2000).

Section 2. Duties and Responsibilities of Students

2.1 Every student shall follow the basic rule, which is: Love your school and be a responsible student your parents can be proud of.

2.2 The school recognizes that students have their own duties to perform to contribute to the
betterment of their education. The following norms of conduct are expected from students:

2.2.1 Students must be respectful of another’s opinions, status of any sort, ethnicity, and religion;

2.2.2 Must comply with the school’s regulations, as long as they are congruent to their best interests;

2.2.3 Must participate in and contribute to an adequate school environment;

2.2.4 Must express themselves appropriately at all times;

2.2.5 Must participate in school activities;

2.2.6 Must respect moral and physical integrity of everyone at all times;

2.2.7 Must ensure school facilities are clean and preserved, as well as any school articles, other
devices, furniture or landscape, and use them properly;

2.2.8 Must respect property rights of any goods or objects belonging to anyone;

2.2.9 Must know and follow the rules and procedures of school services;

2.3 Students must refrain from:

2.3.1 Bullying;

2.3.2 Discriminating, or leading a group of students to discriminate another, with regard to one’s physical appearance, gender or sexual orientation, disability, economic
status, religious beliefs or affiliation and status of any sort;

2.3.3 Behaving physically in a manner that is inappropriate or sexually provocative;

2.3.4 Participating in behavior of other students that is illegal, unsafe and/or abusive;

2.3.5 Abusing and over-asserting their rights on a manner that would evade the school administration from protecting them;

2.3.6 Marking or damaging school property and equipment, including books, in any way

2.3.7 Being aggressive or engaging in a fight.

2.3.8 Inviting visitors or guests inside the school without passing through the Security
Guard on duty.


Section 3. School Curfew:
Students should not stay within the school campus after class hours on class days, except during officially sanctioned school activities with sanctions from parents or guardian.

On weekends (Saturdays & Sundays), office permit and waivers of parents/guardians are required for school related activities.

The school gate is always expected to be closed during weekends and only
authorized personnel and students are allowed to get in.

GUIDELINES TO PARENTS/ GUARDIANS

Empowering Parents/Guardians: Coronado's School of Quezon City, Inc. Guidelines for a Successful Educational Partnership.

To accomplish the integral education of the students, the School Administration requires full cooperation from parents.
Thus, the following reminders are prescribed:


1. Parents are expected to give their whole-hearted support and cooperation with the authorities in the implementation of school rules and regulation, which are intended to develop sound values and total formation of the student.

2. Regular and prompt attendance to classes depends mostly on the student’s diligence and parental follow-up. Irregular attendance leads to the loss of interest and discouragement on the part of the students.

3. From time to time, the School Administration shall issue directives, information, or announcement for the interest of parents and students. This may be through circulars from the Principal or teacher’s note on the student handbook, through email and Microsoft Teams. Parents are strongly advised to check on these to keep abreast with reminders, schedules, and other important matters.

4. The school assumes responsibility for the students only during school hours, that is, from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Students are not allowed to leave the school during the said school hours unless fetched by parents/guardians for a valid reason or the learner has applied for their gatepass.

5. The norms of propriety and mutual respect and ethics should be observed in all school transactions and dealings.

6. The school administrators will gladly entertain clarifications regarding school policies and regulations.

7. Parents who do not live with their child/ren should appoint a guardian who is authorized to assume the responsibilities and to act on their behalf. They should formally inform the class adviser through a letter if necessary.

8. In case of absence, a letter explaining the reason for the absence written and signed by the parent/s is required. The letter must be dated and addressed to the Class Adviser or the Guidance Officer. The form for explanation of absences provided in the Student Handbook may also be used for this purpose.

9. Conference or consultation of parents with teachers or school administrators should be by appointment through the Class Adviser who will inform the Academic Coordinator.

10. No parent or outsider can get a student from classes without a written permit from the Principal/ Guidance or Administrator.

11. The school does not allow any parent, guardian, relative or helper to stay within the school premises during class hours. Fetchers / Parents who will wait for their learner can utilize the waiting area.  (DepEd Order. Sec. 159, Revised Manual Regulation for Private Schools).

12.  Parents, guardians, and/ or visitors are not allowed in the faculty rooms and or classrooms during class hours, and must secure an appointment if they want to consult w/ any teaching staff.

13. Parents or guardians who wish to consult any faculty or school authority must seek an appointment with the concerned teacher. Date and time of the meeting will then be scheduled and communicated through the student’s school diary or planner. The school may not entertain parents/guardians who come without an appointment.

14. In case of conflict among students, parents/ guardians are not allowed to talk/ communicate to the student/s with whom his/her daughter/ or ward has conflict with. This includes the use of phone, private message on Facebook, twitter and the like. Any complaint or concern among students must be coursed through the adviser or administrator.

15. Parents/Guardians are advised to hire transport services recognized by the school. School authorities should be notified of the irregularities of the transport services.

16. Parents should transact all financial obligations and collections sanctioned by the school directly to the cashier’s office.

17. Owners of private cars shall secure sticker from the Village from the HoA Head Office. Stickers are valid for the year only.

18. Parents should personally come to get the report cards of their child/children on the designated dates.
 
19. In case of accidents, the school nurse is available to give medical aid/first aid or to take the student to the hospital.

20. Students should refrain from bring expensive instruments like digital or video cameras, laptop, IPAD, and other electronic gadgets in the campus. Likewise, parents are also discouraged to allow their child/ren to wear expensive jewelry or bring big amount of money to school.

21. Appointment with the family physician/dentist should be on a non-school day so that the child will not miss her class.

22. Students are allowed to bring their cellular phones inside the campus YET are prohibited from using it during class hours.

23. For any Saturday activities, students must secure permission slips from their parents to be submitted to the Principal’s Office two days before the activity.

24. Check payments are not accepted in the 4th quarter (March to May) of the present school year.

25.  All requested student credentials and school documents would be released after four to five working days from the date of request.

26. Submit an Affidavit of Loss in case of loss of official school documents.

27. The school reserves the right to impose other (reasonable) requirements and policies not contained in the Student Handbook for the general well-being of the students and the school. Parents will be duly notified for additional or change in the policy

Traffic Regulations Arrival / Dismissal of Learners

A: No, we do not offer school service.

A: Parking is not allowed in front of the school, as it serves as an unloading area.

A: Yes the school has a parking lot, but parents / legal guardians are only allowed to stay in the parking lot for 15 - 20 minutes.

A: The school unloading zone is located in front of the school, parents who wish to accompany their child/ren to the classrooms may park their vehicle first.

The School Parking Lot also serves as a loading zone.

A: Yes, fetchers can go inside school premises once they present their fetcher's ID.

They may use the waiting area / school hallway to wait for their child/ren.

c. Computer / Software Troubleshooting.

In addition, Helpdesks are currently being put in place to provide assistance to students and parents.
